Giving my dog a bath?

Okay, I practically know everything I need to know about dogs, except..WHEN SHOULD I GIVE MY DOG A BATH?! Some people say once a week, some say once a month and others say I need to give a dog a bath once a year (which I seriously don't beleive)! But when is the precise time to bathe my dog???

Here are the specific dogs I wanna know about:
Golden Retreiver,
Yellow Labrador,
Black Labrador,
Brown Labrador,
Chespeake Bay Retreiver,
Flat-Coated Retreiver,
Curly-Coated Retreiver,
Nova Scotia Duck-Tolling Dog,
Finnish Spitz,
Maltese,
Havanese,
Toy, Minature and Standard American Eskimo Dog,
Samoyed.

Those are all of them, give me when to bathe them, or at least one of em'.

P.S.: If you can, tell me specific info on them or at least one of em'.
Answers:
No dog should be bathed any oftener than absolutely necessary. Most people severely over-bath their dogs which dries out their skin and coats terribly.

If you have a long-haired show dog, he'd likely get bathed every 3 weeks or so, but his skin and coat would be very well looked after by adding oil to his diet, Linatone perhaps for his coat, etc.

The majority of dogs don't need a bath more than every 6 weeks. Some dogs which don't get any kind of "doggy" smell don't get bathed more than twice a year.
Doesn't matter the breed, ONLY bath your dog if absolutely necessary.. You strip the protective oils from the coat and leave the skin and fur unprotected...
Your dog ends up dry and can easily develop staph infections..
give them a bath when they stink, or roll in something awful.
I give my Goldens a bath once a month unless they have rolled into something awful. I pretty sure this will apply to most dogs.
You have a lot of dogs. Bless you!
for the maltese, probably 1 time every 2 weeks
The amount of time you bathe your dogs all depends on each individual dog. And what kind of flea control you use. If the dog has dry skin its okay to bath them once a week with a moisturizing shampoo, I prefer, selsin blue. If they are dirty or smell bad then there is no harm in bathing them. Keep an eye on their coats and their skin. If they look good then keep doing what you're doing if not try different times on each dog.
I usually gave my dog a bath every 2 weeks, depending how bad he smelled. In the hot days of summer, I would give him a bath every week, because he slept inside at night, and would get hot and sweaty during the day. He loved his outside shower I gave him, and he had no fleas, no scratching, and was a very happy camper. I had a bull mastiff, ridgeback mix, and he was 135 pounds. Do not wait 1 year before a bath, as that is not even healthy. Would you go 1 year before you took a bath?
Talk to your vet...First off,you should only bath a dog when it needs it. Once a month is very sufficient..Unless it gets into something it shouldn't..When you bath them too much you harm the natural oils on there fur and open there skin up to infections...Talk to your vet...It goes for all dogs...
It doesn't matter what breed a dog is. If they are puppies you shouldn't bathe them until they are at least a month and a half old, unless they roll in something awful. This is because it can make them sick and they are really to young to bathe and it might traumatize them. If they are older than this then you should only bathe the once every two to three weeks unless they roll in something awful. This is because everytime you wash them with chemicals ,shampoos and conditioners, it takes the oils out of their skins and furs. This leaves their skins and furs unprotected from rashes and other skins disease, and hair loss.
You can bathe a dog as often as it is needed. There really isn't a set amount of time where you SHOULD bathe your dog. But, please don't listen to some of these people and only bathe them once or twice a year. I usually recommend to most of my clients once a month, but if the dog gets extra dirty in between..it is fine to bathe it. I bathe my dog once a week, once every 2 weeks...great skin and coat.

Ok...I am so sick of hearing that you can overbathe a dog and that it will strip its oils, ruin its coat bla bla bla. That is out dated info and is not true anymore as long as you are using a good quality shampoo.

Years ago, shampoos were made from harsh detergents. So, yes, if you bathed your dog once a week..it wasn't good for them. In this day and age, the shampoos are not as harsh. And alot of companies are switching to all natural products.

If you want to bathe your dog more than once a month, just use a mild high quality shampoo (no walmart or dollar store crap, and NO hartz) follow with a conditioner and rinse really good.

No dog needs bathing frequently (unless it's rolled in something disgusting). Regular grooming should be all that is needed. My dogs are bathed once, maybe twice a year when they are moulting really heavily, they have a thick double coat similar to that of a Lab.
Bathing (%26 especially shampoos) destroys the natural balance of the skin %26 coat %26 the normal oily secretions which keep the coat %26 skin in good condition.
I agree with Ny groomer.
Alot of people on here giving out answers need to educate themselves, and stop giving out old info
Dogs should be bathed when they stink. Usually once every 3-4 weeks, regardless of breed. Unless they roll in something, then it's ok to bathe them even if they just got a bath earlier that day. Some dogs may need even less frequent bathing than that.

Once a week is too often, even if you are using a very mild shampoo because it WILL strip the oils from their skin and cause dry flakey skin. Not only that, but unless your dog rolls in disgusting things on a daily basis, you shouldn't need to bath the dog weekly. If you do, then there is probably something medically wrong with the dog that needs to be checked out by a vet. The ONLY exception to this is dogs with very severe allergies or other skin conditions. In these cases you should be using shampoo from your vet (either medicated or anti-allergen) and also using a coat and skin conditioner on the dog to prevent over-drying the skin.
You have ALL these different breeds? Wow...

Anyway, as far as Retrievers, they're water dogs, so keep in mind that their coats are thick and their skin is oily...for good reason. The thick coat and oily skin protect them from the elements when they are "working". The thick coat and oily skin also means that it takes FOREVER to dry. I had 2 Yellow Labs who loved to go in the pool, so they needed to be bathed regularly as well as conditioned, because the chlorine would dry their skin and make them smell. Unless your Retrievers are actually going in the water on a regular basis, you don't need to bathe them more than a couple of times a year, unless they roll in something stinky.

I don't know about the other breeds you listed.
