I found a LONG roundworm in my 9 week old Beagles stool. I gave him Panacur, but I've had it a while. Is the Panacur still good? The worm was also like 4 to 6 inches long...is it possible he has more of them? Finally, How often should I treat him after the first dose, which was given today at 10 a.m.?

Call your vet about the expiration date. Sometimes it's not on the packaging. Recheck their instructions. It can vary. Sometimes it's 3 days in row, wait 2 weeks, then another 3 days. Sometimes it's 5 days, etc. The other thing is about the dog's weight. Dosage is based on weight. I hope you'll talk to your vet and get all these details straightened out. These are poisons so please don't try to guess the dosage. Call the vet.
Check the package for an expiration date, then look for dosing instructions. And yes, it's possible he has more. There are some pretty good puppy wormers on the market that you can buy at feed stores or wherever you buy his food.
Why have you not taken this 9 wk old pup to your vet yet for his vaccines and regular deworming?
All pups have worms. So, yes he probably have more.
Check the exp. date on the package, and panacure needs to be gives 3 days in a row to get the full effect. It is normal for him to pass the worms in his stool after deworming, or either he will just digest them as protein. That "puppy breath" is the smell of worms! So, after you get rid of the puppy breath, the worms will be gone too. BUT you will have to deworm him in 2 wks (prob 3 more X)
Please get his vaccines too!
Congrats on your new pup!
