Hair Loss on a dog?

My Pug has one long bald spot about 4 inches long by 1/2 inch wide on her stomach. and a little it of bald under her "armpits" no where else. Is this caused from a nutrient deficentcy? What would cause this? Any input would help thanks.

your dog could have a problem with it's thyroid. my dog started losing hair and they told me it was her thyroid. they have medication to control that. they also put my dog on vitaims as that helped her. I bought a product called Healthy Coat and my dogs hair came back in very nicely. you can get it at petsmart.
u might want to take him to the vet but my cat had that problem and they said it waz allergies lol.
allergies possibly. Could be environmental or food. If your dog is older id get it thyroid checked. Are there any signs of parasites?
It could be mange or ringworm (which is not really a worm, but is a fingal infection like jock itch or athlete's foot). You may need to take her to the vet to have her skin examined. They may need to do a skin scrape and check it under a microscope or do a fungal culture.
Hi!
Have you noticed you dog scratching or bieting himself? He could be bieting/scratching the hair off. Does he have fleas? That is what my dogs did when he had fleas. He chewed almost all the hair off his leg from being so itchy! If none of these things apply to your dog, call or go to your vet.
Good luck! :)
SEE YOUR VET!
sometimes when dogs have fleas or ticks they start losing their hair. have you noticed any scratching? the best thing is for you to take your dog to the vet and get her checked out.
