From the day a female dog is born when is its first heat? in 8 months ryt?
Answers:
Depends on the breed, and size of a dog..
female dogs do not generally go into season untill they reach mature body weight or close to it..
With a small breed dog, this can be as soon as 6 months larger breeds as late as a year..
Although 6-8 months is the average,,, a dog is not considered abnormal till they have not cycled for the first time before 2 years..
Although often failure to cycle is rare, it can happen but in the majority of cases it is just the dog did not display sighns the owner or it was missed, or a silent heat.. common for the first cycle in a lot of dogs..
If you not planning on breeding then of couse spay before the first season,,
but if you have future plans,, carefull breeding requires you have accurate records, of what is normal for her cycle,, Although each dog varys quite a bit, most dogs are consitant between one cycle and the next..
So, starting after 6 months, checking your girl weekly or even daily is a good idea,, and when she does come into season, keep a daily record of her cylcle, apperance of the vulva, discharge, behavior.. do this for each cycle.. that way when she is over 2, has all her health clearances, and pre breeding clearances.. you have a accurate record of how she cycles, what her pattern is and planning a breeding is much easier..and if she is having somthing abnormal..
good luck..
Her first heat cycle will start when she is around 6 months. Obviously, just with humans, it varies with each b*tch. After her first heat cycle, it's completely safe to get her spayed.
Anytime from 4m to 11m. She also can be spayed before her first heat. I've had females spayed at 8 weeks or over 2#
6mths of age...and i would highly recommend spaying too!
reputable breeders don't breed their dogs till they are 2 yrs old.
idiots breed the second a dog CAN breed. i am assuming your asking cause you are the said idiot i was talking about? *a reputable breeder doesn't need to ask when to breed.*
get it fixed
it fully depends on the breed.
