Every night at around 9 pm -11 pm, he starts running around the house like a wild dog. If you try to pet him or pick him up he bites you. Finally he stops and goes to bed. Why is he doing this, and what can I do to stop him. He also chews holes in the carpet.

apparently that's his play time! don't let him get the upper hand you are the boss, speak to him in a lowered growl NO!
Give him a chew bone, every time he chews correct him. be strong with him,he is trying to be dominant over you.Don't let him, they are a pretty headstrong dog.
