This is not something you can fix on your own at this point...you really need a trainer who either specializes in the breed or in aggression.

I highly suggest you get on ebay and order Cesar Millan Dog Whisperer "Cesars Way" book, and also DVDs if you can. He also has a show that airs every friday evening on the national geographic channel. He specializes in dealing with powerful dominant breeds such as rotties %26 pits.

In the meantime...

DO feed the dogs seperately
DON'T leave toys, bones or treats laying around.
DO walk both dogs (even if you have to do it seperately...but perferably together, one on each side of you) for a MINIMUM of 45 min. a day (preferably twice a day...this will GREATLY relieve stress and tension and the dogs will be less likely to fight)

If need be, keep them both in seperate crates during the time they cannot be supervised.

IF all else fails find a home for one of them or contact a rescue.
Were they socialized at a young age? Did you just get one of them? I have a Great Dane that has a huge issue with my boyfriends Border Collie which just moved in. He also hates other large dogs because he see's them as a threat. I wouldn't allow them eat/drink around each other, chew bones or play with toys. If it gets bad, you may need to get rid of one. Good luck.
American?! Hm. Doesn't seem realistic to me. No stacked deck involved.
all you have to do is sell one they are fighting because of territory dogs do it all the time they can't live together any more
I bought a year ago two shih-tzu puppies. They were brothers and they started to fight each other at around 5 months. I have a dog run and I had to put a fence down the middle so one would be on one side and the other would be on the other side. Had to keep them separated. They are adults now and they have turned out to be the best of friends. I started putting them back together. The only time I have to separate them is when they eat as they will fight each other over each others food. Separate them for the time being.
Are they hurting each other??? Are you sure it's fighting.. or are they playing.

We have 3 dogs.. 2 older labs.. well one VERY old lab.. she is over 10.. then the other .. he is about 6 now.. we just got a rat terrier puppy.

The puppy of course is still in the rough play stage... he want's to nip at the older dogs like he did his litter mates... and well they can get rather grumpy about it... so far though.. neither of them have hurt him... they have wapped him with a paw... or nipped him.. but not an actual bite...

If they are truly fighting.. you may want to try side by side cageing.. we have done that with cat's in the past.. and it has worked well..

Good luck!
Are they the same sex? Are they spayed? Nuetered? This 'might' help. You may end up having to place one or the other to keep them safe. Also check out this article.
