If you are foolish enough to buy a puppy off the internet then you probably deserved to be, as most what is sold is puppymills pups. It is about as stupid as going to the sleaziest bar in town to buy a sports car.
When I looked at the website the first hint theres is a problem in the number of pups the person is selling, next hint,Where is the parents info, what is the pedigrees lines, where is the breed info and caring guides?, where is the page about himself detailing how long he has been breeding , does he show, What titles does his dogs have, without that info , he is likely buying pups from puppy and reselling them.
You should be gettting your referrals through breed clubs or AKC you should always try meet with a breeder see how the animals are cared for meet the parents, take a look at parents health clearances, and meet the pups in person ideally, if you are buying long distance you need to deal with a show breeder who AKC can verify check the pedigree line on the pup on the OFA and Cerf websites to know for sure you are getting quality dogs and if you do things right you won't get scammed. THe AKC and breed clubs provide info on how to find reputable breeders and what questions to ask and what you should expect for a reputable breeder

I wasn't scammed but I was about to once buying a very expensive Yorkshire Terrier.
