Have you ever heard of white golden retrievers?

don't say there is no such thing, becasue there is- I own one, so I know for sure. Not as pure white as a great pyrenees, but almost white all over her body. So have you ever heard of them?
Answers:
Here in Australia we call them cream, as when they are presented next to a Samoyed who are white you can tell the difference. They look very pale as pups but by the time they are 3-4years of age they have golden highlights.
Funny how people carry on about colour. Here in Australia a lot of the American dark gold are classed as a fault as we call that red.
If you are interested in seeing our range of colours here in Australia and reading the breed standard etc got http://www.grcv.org.au The members web pages have lots of photos.
no
It's a shade of golden. Just as some Yellow Labs are nearly white.
some lines are lighter than others.. i know the english lines are very light.. nothing special sorry
Yes I have. They are just a very light blond. There are also white Labradors, which are really just a very light yellow.
There are many coat colors of golden retrievers. They range from dark umber all the way to off-white. There's a ton of names out there for all the colors, but yes. There are 'white' goldens, like yours.
It might just be really light golden, I think the only way for it to be white is if it were albino. ( I love golden retrievers they are really good dogs)
I already told you that I did. They do exist. Now the first time you asked I got a very nasty e-mail because I know that they exist and have seen then and held them. The e-mailer was very upset with me because of what I told you which is the truth.

Their color is not accepted by AKC, true, but the color is in Europe, and Australia. They have only been here is the US for less than 10 years and are becoming very popular.
I am not going lie and say something different now.
all it is is a really light yellow
A "white" golden retriever or "english cream" golden retriver is NOT a Golden Retriever!! Goldens come in "golden" colors! Hey, what a concept!! I wonder why they call them Golden Retrievers? They are not called White Retrievers.
Here is the GRCA statement on this:
http://grca.org/pec/whitegolden.html...

And the AKC standard on color for the Golden Retriever:
Rich, lustrous golden of various shades. Feathering may be lighter than rest of coat. With the exception of graying or whitening of face or body due to age, any white marking, other than a few white hairs on the chest, should be penalized according to its extent. Allowable light shadings are not to be confused with white markings. Predominant body color which is either extremely pale or extremely dark is undesirable. Some latitude should be given to the light puppy whose coloring shows promise of deepening with maturity. Any noticeable area of black or other off-color hair is a serious fault.

Ignorant, greedy breeders are breeding White golden retrievers so they can sell them as "rare", when really the white coat is a serious fault and NOT to be accepted as a Golden Retriever.

God, if they really want to make a White Retriever, they could at least try harder to make their own breed, and call it the White Retriever!!

Bottom line, Golden Retrievers cannot be white, no matter what.
